The Nance family can be traced back to this region since the Revolutionary War. Relatives of Michael who fought in that war are buried at Kings Mountain. Michael has parents, grandparents, great-grandparents and even great-great-grandparents who spent their lives here in McConnells, SC. Michaels great-grandfather, William Anderson Love, traded mules and horses; his grandparents farmed; and his father repaired equipment and trucks. Today, Michael makes a living doing all of the same things his ancestors did, although tractors have taken the place of the horses and mules.
Michael grew up servicing equipment with his father. He graduated Clemson University in 1999 with a degree in Agriculture Mechanization and Business. Upon graduation, Michael worked for Clemson University’s Precision Ag Program until 2003 when he returned to McConnells, SC and began selling and servicing used equipment. His business grew here locally and beyond with a great reputation for honesty and integrity.
Michael took on Massey Ferguson in 2007 and has become one of their top dealers.
Today, Michael and his brother George, who also graduated from Clemson University, farm many acres in McConnells and the surrounding area, using the very equipment we sell here at Nance Tractor and Implement, Inc.
